The Town of Westwood offers residents a “Second Meter” program. The second meter must be provided by the applicant and remain the property of the owner. A Plumbing Permit must be obtained from the Building Department prior to proceeding with installation. Application for the “Second Meter” Program shall be filed with the Westwood Building Department and the Sewer Department prior to initial use. All “Second Meter” devices must read in 100 cubic feet and be properly sealed and tagged in order to be an active legal meter. ALL SECOND METERS MUST BE ANALOG DEVICES. It is the resident responsibility to read the “Second Meter” twice a year, once in July and again in October (only the four white digits) and credits will be made to the sewer usage. A link named "Submit Second Meter Reading" will be available on the left side of this page during the submittal months. No action or inaction on the part of the Sewer Department relieves the resident the responsibility of providing the second meter readings to the Sewer Department in a timely fashion. Credit on the second meters are only granted for the prior 12 months. All credits are granted at the discretion of the Sewer Commission and/or their designee. If not submitted on time, you will be allowed a one-time adjustment only.
