When is open burning allowed?
Open burning is allowed from January 15th through May 1st and is regulated by MA DEP (Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection).
There are no exceptions.
A Decision to allow burning will be decided on a day-to-day basis each morning depending on several factors including wind, periods of dry weather and other atmospheric conditions.
It is the property owner's responsibility to confirm that Open Burning is allowed each day, due to weather conditions.

How do I obtain a fire report or ambulance report?
All requests for reports must be made in writing and mailed to:

A signed release will be required for all medical reports.
A check for $15 made payable to The Town of Westwood for processing will be required.
Some requests may require proof of identity.
When is the fire department open for business?
Although the fire department is open 24 hours/day, 365 days/year, the business office is open Monday-Friday during normal business hours, generally from 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM.
