11/12/24 Update:
A drainage pipe on Gay Street has broken and is starting to collapse a portion of the roadway. This broken pipe is in between the residence of 94 Gay Street and 100 Gay Street. A new drainage pipe will need to be installed. Work is scheduled for Thursday, November 14th with working hours of 7AM to 3PM.
In order for this work to be completed, we will need to close Gay Street. The detour and road closure plan will be as such.
From 7AM – 9AM traffic WILL BE allowed to flow from High Street, through the construction area, towards Washington Street. Traffic from Washington Street towards High Street will be detoured at Fox Hill Street.
From 9AM – 2PM Gay Street WILL BE CLOSED from High Street to Fox Hill Street (except for emergency vehicles and residents within the working zone)
From 2PM - 3PM Gay Street will remain closed at High Street not allowing traffic to travel towards Washington Street. Traffic from Washington Street towards High Street WILL BE allowed through the construction area to High Street.
There will be police details present at both ends of the road closures as well as one detail remaining with the construction team to assist with traffic control. Abutting residents will have access to their properties while work is being performed although may be rerouted depending on work activity. We will do our best to have the least amount of impact to the abutting residents. Emergency vehicles will have access through the construction area at all times. The school bus coordinator has also been notified of this work.
