What is the difference between a Bulk Item and a White Good Item?
Bulk items are furniture items - desk, chair, sofa, mirror, rug etc. (nothing with a plug)
White Goods are items such as washer, dryer, small compact metal item, refrigerator, television, computer etc.

Household Bulk Collection Events are held every March and October on specific weeks on your regular collection day.  Residents can place one bulk item at their curbside (by 7AM) for pickup free of charge on your regular collection day.  This is for bulk items only (think of a wooden piece of furniture, large plastic item such as a kayak or children's play toy), NO appliances, TVs, computers, monitors (nothing with a plug), metal items, construction, hazardous or yard waste.

Textiles, mattress and box springs have been added to the Mass DEP’s (3/25/22) Waste Ban List effective November 1, 2022.  Meaning textiles, mattresses and box springs will no longer be accepted at curbside, transfer stations, landfills or waste to energy facilities for ultimate disposal.  For more details click here

EVERYTHING to be collected (trash, recycle, yard waste & bulk) must be at curbside by 7am on your scheduled day.  ANY missed pick-ups (that were at curbside by 7am) need to be reported to dpw@westwoodma.gov or 781-251-2587 within 24 hours of your scheduled day.
