Massachusetts General Law, chapter 148, section 26F and the Comprehensive Fire Safety Code 527 CMR 1.00, Section 13.7 mandate that upon the sale or transfer of residential homes, the seller must install approved smoke detectors.

In addition, Massachusetts General Law, chapter 148, section 26F1/2 requires carbon monoxide detectors in all residences that have either: fossil fuel burning equipment or an attached, enclosed garage. This law applies to all residences whether or not it is being sold or transferred.

Certificates are valid for 60 days. Please don't wait until the last minute!
