Pursuant to Governor Baker’s March 12, 2020 Order suspending Certain Provisions of the Open Meeting Law MGL C. 30A, §18 and the Governor’s March 23, 2020 Emergency Order imposing strict limitations on the number of people that may gather in one place, the Board of Assessors meeting will be conducted via remote participation by the Board.
The public will be allowed to make comments, if they wish to do so, during the portions of the meeting designated for public comment, by using the conference call in number as listed below. The Chair will continue to give guidance and instructions as needed.
Every effort will be made to ensure that the public can adequately access the proceedings via technological means. In the event that we are unable to do so, despite our best efforts, we will post on the town website www.townhall.westwood.ma.us an audio or video recording, or transcript, as soon as practicable after the meeting.

Executive Session Script

The Board of Assessors will be going into Executive Session to discuss Residential, Commercial and Personal Property abatements. The Board of Assessors may convene in Executive Session under Purpose 7 “to comply with, or act under the authority of, any general law, citing G.L. c.59, § 60 as the statute requiring confidentiality. See G.L. c.30A, § 21(a)(7)

Pursuant to G.L. c.30A §22(f) (g) to comply with any general law for review of Executive Session Minutes, all of which would have a detrimental effect on the position of the governing body if discussion were in open session. The Board will not be returning to open session.
