WESTWOOD BOARD OF APPEALS

 

Pursuant to Chapter 40A, §9, the Board of 21, 2020 at 7:00 PM. The public hearing will be a remote meeting through Zoom due to the COVID-19 state of emergency and in compliance with the Governor’s March 12, 2020 Executive Order suspending certain provisions of the Open Meeting Law MGL C. 30A, §18 and the Governor’s March 23 Emergency Order imposing limitations on the number of people that may gather in one place. Those wishing to participate are encouraged to use Zoom.

Appeals will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, October

The Board shall hear an application filed by Megan Dewey to amend a Special Permit previously issued by the Board on August 4, 2020 pursuant to the Westwood Zoning Bylaw Section §4.5.3.2 [Special Permit Alterations of Nonconforming Structures-Vertical Extension] to construct an addition that increases the building height in the side yard setback. The new proposal reflects an increase in average roof height from the proposal previously approved. Property is located in the General Residential District.

                         Map 16 Lot 226

 

Any zoning relief that may be required in adherence to the Westwood Zoning Bylaw shall be considered by the Board.

 

Should any person or party desire for any written material, including legal arguments or positions, to be considered by the Zoning Board of Appeals in connection with any petition before the Board, such material shall be submitted to the clerk of the Board no later than five (5) calendar days before the public hearing on the petition, or such material shall not be considered.

 

The application is available for inspection during stated business hours at the office of the Board of Appeals and on the Zoning Board’s webpage under “Current Application Links” at

 www.westwoodpermit.org    

 

Interested persons are encouraged to attend the public hearing and make their views known to the Board of Appeals.

Pursuant to Governor Baker’s March 12, 2020 Order suspending Certain Provisions of the Open Meeting Law MGL C. 30A, §18 and the Governor’s March 23, 2020 Emergency Order imposing strict limitations on the number of people that may gather in one place, the Zoning Board of Appeals meeting will be conducted via remote participation by the Board.

 

The public is encouraged to participate in the hearing via a Zoom webinar. The public will be allowed to make comments, if they wish to do so, during the portions of the meeting designated for public comment. The Chair will continue to give guidance and instructions as needed.

 

Every effort will be made to ensure that the public can adequately access the proceedings via technological means. In the event that we are unable to do so, despite our best efforts, we will post on the town website, www.townhall.westwood.ma.us, an audio or video recording,  or transcript, as soon as practicable after the meeting.
