Pursuant to Chapter 2 of the Acts of 2023, on March 29, 2023, Governor Maura Healey signed into law An Act Making Appropriations for the Fiscal Year 2023 to Provide for Supplementing Certain Existing Appropriations and for Certain Other Activities and Projects. This Act includes an extension, until March 31, 2025, of the remote meeting provisions. 

This meeting will be conducted via remote means. Members of the public who wish to access the meeting may do so by using the Webinar link below. No in-person attendance of members of the public will be permitted, but every effort will be made to ensure that the public can adequately access the proceedings in real-time, via technological means. In the event that we are unable to do so, for reasons of economic hardship and despite best efforts, we will post on the Town website an audio or video recording, transcript, or other comprehensive records of proceedings as soon as possible after the meeting.

J. EXECUTIVE SESSION
The Select Board will be going into Executive Session to discuss two potential issues, the first pursuant to G.L. c.30A, §21(a)(1), to discuss the reputation, character, physical condition or mental health, rather than professional competence, of an individual, or to discuss the discipline or dismissal of, or complaints or charges brought against, a public officer, employee, staff member or individual and the second pursuant to c.30A §21(a )(2) to discuss strategy with respect to contract negotiations for Non-Union Personnel; discussion of either in public would have a detrimental effect on the position of the governing body. The Board will not be returning to open session.

 FY24 TAX CLASSIFICATION

 The Westwood Select Board will hold a remote Public Hearing on Monday, November 13, 2023, at 6:00 p.m., Pursuant to Chapter 2 of the Acts of 2023, on March 29, 2023, Governor Maura Healey signed into law An Act Making appropriations for the Fiscal Year 2023 to Provide for Supplementing Certain Existing Appropriations and for Certain Other Activities and Projects. This Act includes an extension, until March 31, 2025, of the remote meeting provisions.

The purpose of this meeting will be for discussion and taxpayer feedback and a vote of the Select Board to determine the allocation of Fiscal Year 2024 taxes among the classes of real and personal property as set forth in Chapter 40, Section 56 of the General Laws. Interested taxpayers may present written information on their views at the November 13, 2023, Public Hearing.
